It aims at promoting the interest of students in learning Chemistry and developing students’ skills in problem solving, critical thinking, communication and science process through project learning. About 350 students participate in the competition last few years. Details of the Olympiad are given below:

Participants:

Each team comprises three to five Secondary 3-7 students and each school can present a maximum of two teams of students to compete in the Olympiad.

Water plays a crucial role, even a key step, in our Chemistry domains. Up to date, diverse related-researches and developments are kept going for practical uses and theoretical building in different perspectives. Much novel and sophisticated chemistry, and related technologies are built on the pragmatic of it!  This year, the theme of the Hong Kong Chemistry Olympiad for Secondary Schools is “ChemistryWater”. We aim at encouraging students to use of their chemistry-lens to quest something desirable in this aspect.
